  • Noteable History

    1. The Battle of Muling occurred in Longjiang during World War II between Japanese and Soviet forces.
    2. Longjiang was an important base for communist forces during the Chinese Civil War.
    3. Zhang Xueliang, also known as The Young Marshal, was born in Haicheng (now part of Longjiang) in 1901. He was a prominent warlord and military commander who had significant influence in northeast China during the early 20th century.
    4. Li Zhaolin, a famous Chinese musician and composer who lived from 1899 to 1964, was born in Longjiang and is considered one of the pioneers of modern Chinese music.
