Makiivka is a city in eastern Ukraine’s Donetsk Oblast, Situated on the Kalmius River and home to roughly 340, 000 people. Originally founded as a small mining settlement in the late 19th century, It experienced significant growth during the Soviet era due to its coal mining industry.
