Malolos is a first-class urban municipality situated in the province of Bulacan, Philippines. It is located 42 kilometers north of Manila and has a population of approximately 250, 000 people. The town was founded in 1580 and briefly served as the capital city of the Philippines between 1898 and 1901 during the Philippine Revolution against Spanish colonial rule. One of Malolos’ most significant historical landmarks is Barasoain Church, Built-in 1859. The church played an essential role in Philippine history as it served as the location where General Emilio Aguinaldo declared Philippine independence from Spain on June 12, 1898.

Today, Barasoain Church stands tall as one of the country’s most important national shrines.
