Monroe is a beautiful city situated in the north-central region of Louisiana, United States. It serves as the parish seat of Ouachita Parish and is the eighth-largest city in the state. The city has a population of around 48, 000 people and covers an area of 31 square miles. The history of Monroe dates back to the early 1800s when French explorers established Fort Miro. Later on, It was renamed Monroe in honor of President James Monroe.
