Nāḩiyat Ghammās is a small town in the Al-Anbar Governorate of Iraq, Located on the western bank of the Euphrates River. The town has a population of around 20, 000 people and is primarily comprised of Sunni Arabs. The history of Nāḩiyat Ghammās dates back to ancient times when it was an important trading center for caravans traveling between Mesopotamia and Syria. The town’s strategic location along the Euphrates River made it an ideal spot for trade, Commerce, And agriculture. In recent times, Nāḩiyat Ghammās has been affected by ongoing conflict in Iraq.

From 2014 to 2016, The town was under ISIS control during which time residents faced brutal repression and violence. Since then, Security forces have regained control over the area but there are still concerns about safety and stability. Despite these challenges, Nāḩiyat Ghammās remains an important economic hub for the region with agriculture being a major industry with crops such as wheat, Barley and cotton being grown in surrounding areas.
