Noyabrsk is a city situated in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug of Russia, On the banks of the Ob River. It was founded in 1976 as a center for oil and gas exploration and production in the region. Today, It has a population of over 110, 000 people and is one of the largest cities in Yamalo-Nenets. The climate in Noyabrsk is subarctic with long cold winters and short mild summers. The average temperature during winter months can drop to -30°C (-22°F), While summer temperatures reach an average high of only 16°C (61°F).

Despite these harsh conditions, Noyabrsk has become an important economic center due to its strategic location near major oil and gas fields.
