1. The city of Osmanabad was founded by the Rashtrakutas in the 8th century.
2. The city was ruled by various dynasties such as the Yadavas, Bahamani Sultanate, Nizam Shahis, and Mughals before it came under British rule.
3. In 1857, during the Indian Rebellion against British rule, a group of rebels led by Raghunathrao Patwardhan attacked and captured Osmanabad from the British.
