It covers an area of 2377 square kilometers and is situated on the banks of the river Padma. The history of Pābna dates back to ancient times when it was ruled by various dynasties such as Gupta, Pal, Sena, And Mughal emperors. During the British colonial period, Pābna was an important administrative center and served as a hub for trade and commerce.

Pābna boasts several rivers, Canals, Wetlands, And forests which provide habitats for a diverse range of flora and fauna. 1. Pābna Peasant Uprising: In 1873, a peasant uprising took place in Pābna against British colonial rule. The movement was led by Sardar Mokbul Hossain and resulted in the deaths of many peasants.

7. Rabindranath Tagore: Rabindranath Tagore, one of the greatest poets of all time, visited Pābna during his travels across Bengal region.
8. Shaheed Suhrawardy Udyan: Shaheed Suhrawardy Udyan is a public park located in Dhaka, Bangladesh, which was named after Huseyn Shaheed Suhrawardy who was a prominent politician and statesman of Bengal. He hailed from Pābna district.
9. Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani: Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani was a popular political leader and social activist who fought for the rights of peasants and workers in East Pakistan (now Bangladesh). He was born in Tangail district which is adjacent to Pābna district.
10. Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College: Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College is a public medical college located in Bogra district which is near to Pābna. It was named after President Ziaur Rahman who served as the seventh President of Bangladesh from 1977 until his assassination in 1981.
