Pizhou is a city located in the eastern part of China’s Jiangsu province. It has a population of approximately 1.5 million people and covers an area of 1, 886 square kilometers. Pizhou is situated at the intersection of two major rivers, The Grand Canal and the Huai River, Which have played an important role in the city’s history and development. The area around Pizhou has been inhabited since ancient times, With evidence of human settlement dating back to over 5, 000 years ago.

The city itself was established during the Han Dynasty (206 BCE – 220 CE) and has been an important center for trade and commerce ever since. During the Tang Dynasty (618-907 CE), Pizhou became known for its production of silk fabrics. Today, Pizhou is known for its agricultural products such as rice, Wheat, Cotton and fruit trees like peaches and apples. The city also has a thriving manufacturing industry with factories producing textiles, Machinery parts and electronic components among other things. One of Pizhou’s most famous attractions is Xuyi Ancient Town which dates back to over 2, 500 years ago.

This well-preserved town features traditional Chinese architecture including temples, Pagodas and bridges that are still used today by locals.
