The town was named after Marcelo H. del Pilar, A prominent Filipino writer and revolutionary who used the pen name Plaridel. One of Plaridel’s main attractions is its rich history and culture.     1. Marcelo H. del Pilar was a Philippine national hero who spent most of his childhood in Plaridel, although he was born in nearby San Nicolas, Bulacan.
    2. The Battle of Quingua occurred on April 23, 1899, during the Philippine-American War when Filipino forces led by General Gregorio del Pilar fought against American troops.
