Prokopyevsk is a city in Kemerovo Oblast, Russia. It’s located in southern Siberia, Near Kazakhstan’s border. The city has a population of roughly 200, 000 people and covers an area of over 100 square kilometers. It was established in 1918 as a small settlement around a coal mine. The economy of Prokopyevsk heavily relies on coal mining and related industries. Several large mines produce high-quality coal that powers heating and electricity generation across Russia.
