Qingyang is a city in the northwest of China’s Sichuan province, Bordered by mountains and located at the eastern edge of the Tibetan Plateau. The city has a rich history dating back to ancient times and was once an important center for trade along the Silk Road. One of Qingyang’s top attractions is the Qingcheng Mountain Scenic Area, Which offers natural beauty and historical sites. Visitors can hike through forests, Explore Taoist temples, Admire ancient architecture like stone bridges and pagodas, And relax in hot springs.

Another must-see attraction is Dujiangyan Irrigation System, A UNESCO World Heritage Site that dates back over 2, 000 years.   1. The Battle of Qingyang occurred in 1644 during the Ming-Qing transition period. It was a clash between Ming loyalists and the advancing Qing army, resulting in the defeat of the former and paving way for Qing rule over China.
  2. Huang Tingjian, a renowned poet and calligrapher from the Song Dynasty, resided in Qingyang for some time.
  3. Zhang Daoling, a legendary figure who founded Taoist sect Way of Celestial Masters during Han Dynasty, is believed to have lived in Qingyang.
  4. Cao Xueqin, author of Dream of Red Mansions – a literary masterpiece – is thought to have been born in Hengzhou County that once belonged to Qingyang Prefecture.
