  4. Silicon Valley Roller Girls – The Silicon Valley Roller Girls is a women’s roller derby league founded in 2007. They compete against other teams from around California and beyond.
  5. Santa Clara Broncos – The Santa Clara Broncos are the athletic teams of Santa Clara University located just outside of San Jose. They compete at the NCAA Division I level and have had success across several sports, including men’s basketball (which has made multiple NCAA Tournament appearances) and women’s soccer (which has won two national championships).
  6. San Francisco Bay Bombers – Although not based specifically out of San Jose but considered part of its metropolitan area, the Bay Bombers were one of the original roller derby teams from its inception during World War II until its decline by late-1970s/early-1980s after being featured on television for decades as an American pastime sport with both male & female skaters competing together on each side for points while trying to knock each other off track or block opposing players from scoring points through various means such as elbowing or hip-checking them out-of-bounds or into walls/rails/etcetera along sidelines.
