Sasolburg is a town located in the Free State province of South Africa. It is situated on the banks of the Vaal River and is known for being home to one of South Africa’s largest petrochemical complexes, Sasol. The town was established in 1954 by Sasol as a company town to house its employees and their families. The Sasolburg Petrochemical Complex covers an area of over 30 square kilometers and produces fuel, Chemicals, And plastics. It employs more than 6, 000 people and has a significant impact on the local economy.

Despite its industrial roots, Sasolburg offers plenty for visitors to see and do. The Vaal Dam is just a short drive away and offers opportunities for boating, Fishing, And other water sports. There are also several nature reserves nearby where visitors can go hiking or take game drives to see wildlife such as rhinos, Giraffes, Zebras, And antelopes. For those interested in history or culture, There are several museums in Sasolburg worth visiting.
