Shinyanga is a city located in the northwestern part of Tanzania, Around 175 miles away from Lake Victoria. It serves as the capital of Shinyanga region and has a population of approximately 160, 000 people. The city is known for its significance in Tanzania’s mining and agricultural industries. The history of Shinyanga dates back to pre-colonial times when it was an important trade center for ivory and slaves. During colonial rule, It served as an administrative center for German East Africa and later British Tanganyika.
