Talavera is a municipality located in the province of Nueva Ecija, Philippines. It has a land area of 164.71 square kilometers and is situated in the central part of Luzon. The town is bounded by Aliaga on the north, Llanera on the east, Sto. Domingo on the south, And Zaragoza on the west. The town was originally called Maligaya which means happy or joyful in Tagalog language but was later renamed Talavera after General Mariano Talavera y Sanchez de Tagle who served as governor-general during Spanish colonial times.
One of Talavera’s main attractions is San Isidro Labrador Parish Church which was built during Spanish colonial times and features Baroque-style architecture with intricate carvings and decorations inside and out.
