  3. Trần Văn Khê, a renowned musician and scholar of Vietnamese music, was born in Tân Phú in 1933.
  4. Nguyễn Thị Minh Khai lived in Tân Phú for some time before her arrest and execution by the South Vietnamese authorities. She was a prominent revolutionary figure who fought against French colonial rule and later against South Vietnam’s government during the Vietnam War.
  5. The district contains several temples and pagodas dating back to the 18th century such as Chùa Ba Vàng (Golden Pagoda) and Chùa Hội Sơn (Hoi Son Pagoda).
