Torreón is a city located in the northern part of Mexico, In the state of Coahuila. It is considered one of the fastest growing cities in Mexico and has become an important economic center due to its strategic location and diverse industry. Torreón has a population of approximately 750, 000 people, Making it the ninth largest city in Mexico. The city’s name comes from its iconic tower (torre) which was built by Spanish settlers during colonial times. The tower served as a lookout point for potential attacks from indigenous tribes that inhabited the area at that time.

  4. Santos FC Femenil is a women’s soccer team established by Santos Laguna to compete in Liga MX Femenil (the top women’s soccer league) back in June of 2017. In their first season (Apertura), they made it to the semifinals but lost against Tigres UANL.
  5. Lobos Grises UAD represents Universidad Autónoma de Durango (UAD) campus Torreón and competes mainly against other university teams across Mexico playing American football; they have won several regional championships over the years.

Toros de Tijuana (formerly known as Broncos de Reynosa) is a baseball team not based out of Torreón itself but still popular among fans due to its close proximity to Reynosa (a city located about four hours away from Torreón). The Broncos were relocated to Tijuana back on December of 2013 after being sold by their previous owners due to financial difficulties; they were renamed as Toros upon moving there.
