Yŏngju is a small city located in the northern part of Gyeongsangbuk-do province, South Korea. It is situated on the banks of the Namhan River and surrounded by beautiful mountains. The city has a rich history dating back to the Silla Dynasty, And it was once an important center for Confucianism during the Joseon Dynasty. One of Yŏngju’s most famous attractions is its fortress, Which was built during the Joseon Dynasty to protect against foreign invasions. The fortress walls stretch for over 3 kilometers and are made from stone blocks that were quarried from nearby mountains.
Visitors can explore the fortress and climb up to its watchtowers for stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Another popular attraction in Yŏngju is Seonbichon Village, Which is a traditional Korean village that has been preserved since the Joseon Dynasty. The village features traditional houses with thatched roofs, Narrow alleys lined with stone walls, And beautiful gardens filled with flowers and trees.
