Zoetermeer is a beautiful city located in the province of South Holland, Netherlands. It is approximately 20 kilometers northeast of Rotterdam and has a population of around 125, 000 people. The name Zoetermeer means sweet lake in Dutch and it is derived from the fact that there used to be a lake in the area that was known for its sweet water. Zoetermeer has a rich history dating back to the Middle Ages when it was just a small village.

Over time, It grew into an important market town and played an important role in the Dutch Golden Age as a center for agriculture and trade. Today, Zoetermeer is known for its modern architecture, Green spaces, And excellent quality of life. One of the most notable landmarks in Zoetermeer is the Stadshart or City Center which was designed by famous architect Herman Hertzberger. The Stadshart features several high-rise buildings including residential apartments, Offices, Shops, Restaurants and cafes.
