Adoni is a small town located in the state of Karnataka, India. It is situated in the Raichur district and lies on the banks of the river Krishna. The town has a rich historical and cultural heritage that dates back to ancient times. It was ruled by various dynasties such as Satavahanas, Chalukyas, Rashtrakutas, Vijayanagara Empire and Bahmani Sultanate. The town is famous for its beautiful temples that reflect the architectural style of different eras. The most prominent temple in Adoni is the Mahakuteshwara Temple which was built during the Chalukya dynasty.
