Ar Rustāq is a beautiful and historic city located in the Al Batinah region of Oman. It is situated about 120 kilometers from Muscat, The capital city of Oman, And is known for its rich cultural heritage, Stunning landscapes, And ancient architecture. The city has a population of around 80, 000 people and is surrounded by lush green mountains that offer breathtaking views to visitors. The climate in Ar Rustāq is hot and humid throughout the year with temperatures ranging from 25-40°C during summers.

One of the most significant landmarks in Ar Rustāq is its impressive fort which dates back to the 13th century. The fort was built during the reign of Imam Nasser bin Murshid Al Ya’arubi and has been preserved very well over time. Visitors can explore different parts of this magnificent structure such as watchtowers, Courtyards, Mosques, Prison cells, Living quarters for soldiers and commanders. Another major attraction in Ar Rustāq is its bustling souk or market which offers a wide range of traditional Omani goods such as spices, Textiles, Pottery items along with fresh fruits & vegetables.

This market has been an important trading hub for centuries where merchants from all over Oman come to sell their products. Ar Rustaq also boasts several natural attractions such as Ain Al Kasfa hot springs which are believed to have medicinal properties that can cure various diseases like rheumatism & arthritis. The hot springs are surrounded by lush greenery making it an ideal spot for relaxation amidst nature.

The city also hosts several cultural events throughout the year including traditional music concerts called ‘Majlis’, Camel racing competitions during Eid al-Fitr festivities & other religious festivals celebrated by locals with great enthusiasm.
