Araguari is a city in Minas Gerais, Brazil, Located at the junction of three rivers – Araguari, Paranaíba and Uberabinha. The population of the city is around 120, 000 people and it covers an area of 1, 418 km². The history of Araguari dates back to the colonial era when Portuguese explorers founded it in the late 17th century. During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, Araguari played a vital role in Brazil’s coffee industry. Today, Agriculture is its main industry with crops like soybeans, Corn, Cotton and sugarcane being grown abundantly.

Araguari’s architecture reflects its colonial past with many historical buildings still standing today such as the Church of Our Lady of Conception built-in 1848.
