Arayat is a municipality located in the province of Pampanga, Philippines. The town is situated at the base of Mount Arayat, Which is a popular hiking destination in Central Luzon. Arayat has a rich history and culture that dates back to pre-colonial times. The main attraction in Arayat is Mount Arayat itself. The mountain stands at 1, 026 meters high and provides breathtaking views of its surroundings. Hikers can choose from several trails depending on their level of expertise.

Aside from hiking, Visitors can also explore other attractions such as the San Juan Bautista Church which was built during Spanish colonial times and still stands today as one of the town’s most iconic landmarks. Another must-visit spot is the Bale Matua Museum where visitors can learn about local traditions and customs through various exhibits. Arayat also boasts an agricultural industry with vast rice fields surrounding it along with other crops such as corn, Sugarcane, Vegetables and fruits including mangoes which are known for their sweetness throughout the country.

The municipality celebrates its annual fiesta every June 24th in honor of St John The Baptist (San Juan Bautista) who serves as their patron saint. During this festival, Locals showcase their talents through dance performances called Kuraldal which depicts stories from ancient folklore.     1. The Battle of Arayat occurred during the Philippine-American War in 1899, with Filipino forces led by General Emilio Aguinaldo fighting against American troops.
