Burco is a city located in the Togdheer region of Somalia, Known for its historical and cultural significance. It is the second-largest city in the region after its capital, Burao, With a population of approximately 200, 000 people. The city has a rich history dating back to pre-colonial times when it served as an important trading hub between Ethiopia and coastal regions of Somalia. During colonial times, Burco was part of British Somaliland and played an important role in the administration of the region.

Tourists from all over the world visit Burco to explore several historical sites such as Sheikh Aden Madobe’s tomb that dates back to the 13th century and Naasa Hablood – a rock formation resembling two giraffes kissing. Burco has undergone significant development in recent years with new infrastructure projects being implemented across the city.
