It is the largest city in Dobruja region and one of the oldest cities in the country, Dating back to ancient times. Sports Teams

  1. FC Farul Constanța – Founded in 1949, FC Farul Constanța is the most popular football club in Constanța. The team has played in the Romanian Liga I for several seasons and has also won the Romanian Cup twice.
  2. SCM Gloria Buzău – This handball team was founded in 1986 and is one of the top teams in Romania’s women’s handball league. It has won several national championships and also participated in European competitions.
  3. CSM Volei Alba Blaj – This volleyball team was founded in 2004 but moved to Constanța from Alba Iulia recently due to financial reasons. The team has won multiple national championships and also represented Romania at European competitions.
  4. CSU Danubius Galați – This basketball team was founded back when basketball was still very popular during communist times, however it had its ups and downs since then, with a couple of successful seasons as well as relegations to lower leagues.
  5. ACS Tomis Constanta Rugby Club – Founded relatively recently (in 2010), this rugby club managed to make quite an impact over its short history so far, participating regularly at both Super League level as well as international competitions such as Challenge Cup or Continental Shield.
