Daye is a prefecture-level city situated in the Hubei province of China, Located on the eastern side of the Jianghan Plain, At the foot of Mount Hongshan. The city covers an area of 2, 210 square kilometers and has a population of approximately 1 million people. The history of Daye dates back over 2, 000 years ago when it was known as Huayang during the Han Dynasty. It was famous for its rich mineral resources and was one of China’s largest copper-producing regions. Today, Daye remains an important mining center with significant deposits of iron, Copper, Gold and other minerals.
