Delgado is a small town located in the San Salvador department of El Salvador. It is situated just 5 kilometers north of the capital city, San Salvador, And has a population of around 60, 000 people. The town is named after Jose Matias Delgado, One of El Salvador’s most prominent historical figures who played a key role in the country’s independence movement. Despite its close proximity to San Salvador, Delgado has maintained its own unique identity and culture. The town has a strong sense of community and many residents are involved in local initiatives to improve their quality of life.

One such initiative is the Green City project which aims to create more green spaces throughout Delgado by planting trees and shrubs. One of the main attractions in Delgado is its historic church, Iglesia de la Asuncion de Maria.   3. Alianza F.C.: Founded in 1958, Alianza F.C. is a professional football club based in San Salvador (Delgado). The team has won thirteen Primera División de Fútbol de El Salvador titles and two CONCACAF Champions League trophies.
  4. Santa Tecla FC: Santa Tecla FC was founded on January 18th of 2007 as a result of the merger between Juventud Olímpica y el CD Luis Ángel Firpo de Usulután (a city located southeast of San Salvador). This club plays its home games at Estadio Las Delicias and has won three Primera División de Fútbol de El Salvador titles so far.
  5. C.D Municipal Limeño: This football club was founded on January 16th of 1949 by a group of young people who were passionate about sports from Santa Rosa Lima (a municipality located north-eastern part of San Miguel Department). They have not yet managed to win any major trophies but are considered one of the most important teams for fans from this region.
