Uruma is a city situated on the east coast of Okinawa Island in Japan. It was created in 2005 by merging four towns, Gushikawa, Ishikawa, Katsuren, And Yonashiro. The city has a population of around 120, 000 residents and covers an area of 86 square miles. The beaches in Uruma are one of its main attractions. Ikei Beach is known for its clear waters and white sand while Miyagi Island Beach offers stunning views of the surrounding islands.

Uruma also boasts several historical landmarks such as Nakagusuku Castle Ruins which dates back to the Ryukyu Kingdom period (1429-1879) and served as a strategic military base during battles between different kingdoms. Katsuren Castle Ruins was built during the late 13th century by Amawari who ruled over Katsuren Magiri (present-day Uruma City) and was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2000 along with other Gusuku Sites and Related Properties of the Kingdom of Ryukyu.
