Durgapur is a city located in the state of West Bengal, India. It is situated on the banks of the Damodar River and is known for its industrial development. The city was planned and developed in the 1950s by Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy, Who was the second Chief Minister of West Bengal. Durgapur is one of the fastest-growing cities in India, With a population of over 600, 000 people. The city has undergone significant development over recent years and has become an important economic hub in eastern India.
Durgapur’s economy is primarily driven by industries such as steel, Power generation, Cement production, Chemical manufacturing and heavy engineering.
