El Geneina is the capital city of West Darfur state in Sudan. It is located in the western part of the country and has a population of approximately 300, 000 people. The city was founded in 1910 by the British colonial administration and was initially used as a military base during World War I. The city has a rich cultural heritage, With many traditional Sudanese customs still practiced today.

One of the most notable cultural events is the El Geneina Festival, Which takes place every year in February and celebrates various aspects of local culture including music, Dance, Food, And crafts.
