Ellore, Also known as Eluru, Is a city located in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh. It is situated on the banks of the Tammileru River and has a rich history that dates back to the 2nd century BC. The city was ruled by various dynasties such as Satavahanas, Chalukyas, Kakatiyas, Vijayanagara Empire and Qutb Shahis. One of the main attractions in Ellore is the Kolleru Lake which is one of India’s largest freshwater lakes. The lake attracts migratory birds during winter making it an ideal spot for bird watching.

Another popular tourist destination in Ellore is Dwaraka Tirumala Temple dedicated to Lord Venkateswara with unique architecture featuring intricate carvings on its walls. Ellore also boasts several other temples including Guntupalli Group of Buddhist Monuments built during 3rd century BC considered one of India’s oldest Buddhist sites declared as national heritage monuments by Archaeological Survey of India.
