  1. The Battle of Fei River occurred in 383 AD during the Eastern Jin dynasty between the Jin army and a rebel force led by Su Jun. The rebels were eventually defeated.
  2. Li Qingzhao (1084-1155), a renowned poet and writer from the Song dynasty, was born in Feicheng. She is famous for her lyrical poetry.
  3. Wang Xizhi (303-361) was an Eastern Jin dynasty calligrapher known for his Lanting Xu or Preface to the Poems Composed at the Orchid Pavilion. He is considered one of China’s greatest calligraphers and was born in Feicheng.
  4. Sun Yujun (1880-1942), a general in World War II’s National Revolutionary Army, hailed from Feicheng and fought against Japanese forces.
