Anqiu is a county-level city located in the eastern part of Shandong province, China. It is situated in the central part of the Shandong Peninsula, About 30 kilometers southeast of Weifang and 140 kilometers east of Jinan, The provincial capital. Anqiu covers an area of approximately 1, 500 square kilometers and has a population of over 800, 000 people. The city has a long history dating back to the Han dynasty (206 BC-220 AD). During this time, It was known as Ancheng and served as an important military stronghold.

Over time, Ancheng became known for its production of silk and paper. Today, Anqiu remains an important agricultural center with significant production in vegetables such as garlic and onions. One notable attraction in Anqiu is the Guandi Temple which was built during the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) to honor Guan Yu – a famous general from ancient China who is worshipped for his loyalty and bravery. The temple covers an area of over 20 acres with several halls dedicated to different deities including Guan Yu himself.

Another popular tourist destination in Anqiu is Mount Taihua which stands at over 500 meters above sea level.
