Hinthada is a city in the Ayeyarwady region of Myanmar, Located about 135 kilometers west of Yangon. The city has a population of approximately 200, 000 people and serves as an essential commercial center for the surrounding agricultural region. The city has a rich history dating back to the Bagan period when it was known as Hmawbi. During colonial times, It was renamed Hinthada by British administrators. Many local activists joined the fight against British rule during Myanmar’s struggle for independence.
