Ji’an Shi is a city located in the southern part of Jiangxi Province, China. The city covers an area of 25, 219 square kilometers and has a population of approximately 5.3 million people. It is situated at the junction of three provinces: Jiangxi, Hunan, And Guangdong. Ji’an Shi has a long history that dates back to the Han Dynasty (206 BC – AD 220). During this time, It was known as Jiankang County and served as an important transportation hub for goods traveling between central China and southern China.

Today, Ji’an Shi remains an important transportation center due to its location at the intersection of several major highways. One of Ji’an Shi’s most famous attractions is Jinggangshan National Revolutionary Park which covers an area of more than 1, 200 square kilometers. It played a significant role in Chinese history as it was where Mao Zedong led his Communist forces during their struggle against the Nationalist government in the late 1920s. Another popular attraction in Ji’an Shi is Lushan Mountain National Park which boasts breathtaking views from its summit that stands over 1km high above sea level.

  6. Yan Xishan: A warlord who controlled Shanxi province during much of the Republican era, Yan Xishan briefly served as governor of Jiangxi province with his capital at Ji’an before being ousted by Communist forces.
