Khartoum is the capital city of Sudan, Located in the north-central part of the country. It is a bustling metropolis with a rich history and cultural heritage. The city is situated at the confluence of two major rivers, The Blue Nile and White Nile, Which merge to form one river that flows northwards towards Egypt. Khartoum has a population of over 5 million people, Making it one of Africa’s largest cities.   1. The Battle of Khartoum (1885): This was a major battle during the Mahdist War where the Mahdist forces led by Muhammad Ahmad defeated British and Egyptian troops in Khartoum.
