Kindia is a city located in the west of Guinea, Africa. It is the capital of the Kindia region and has an estimated population of 150, 000 people. The city lies on the banks of the Konkouré River, Which provides water to irrigate crops and support fishing activities. Kindia has a rich history dating back to pre-colonial times when it was part of the Kingdom of Kankan. During colonial rule, Kindia became an important center for trade due to its location on major trade routes between Conakry and other parts of Guinea.
