Kouandé is a town situated in the northwest of Benin, In the Atakora department. The town covers an area of approximately 1, 300 square kilometers and sits at an altitude of 305 meters above sea level. With a population of around 85, 000 people, Kouandé is known for its rich cultural heritage and stunning natural scenery. The landscape in Kouandé is one of its most prominent features. The town is located at the foot of the Atakora Mountains which form part of a larger mountain range stretching across West Africa.
