Kryvyi Rih is a city located in the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast of Ukraine. It is the eighth-largest city in Ukraine and has a population of approximately 650, 000 people. The city is situated on the banks of the Inhulets River and lies within the Kryvyi Rih Iron Ore Basin, Which contains one of the largest iron ore deposits in Europe. The history of Kryvyi Rih dates back to ancient times when it was inhabited by Scythians and Sarmatians.

The name Kryvyi Rih translates to crooked horn in Ukrainian, Which refers to an ancient legend about a bull with crooked horns that roamed the area. During World War II, Kryvyi Rih was occupied by Nazi Germany, And many Jews were killed or deported to concentration camps.
