Lalian is a small town located in the heart of Punjab province, Pakistan, In the district of Chiniot. It is situated approximately 40 km away from Faisalabad and has a population of around 50, 000 people. The town is renowned for its rich cultural heritage and historical significance. The area has been inhabited since ancient times with evidence of human settlements dating back to the Indus Valley Civilization. Throughout history, Lalian was ruled by various empires such as Mauryan Empire, Gupta Empire, Mughal Empire and British Raj.

One notable landmark in Lalian is the Kharl Sharif shrine which houses the tomb of Hazrat Syed Muhammad Shah Sufi Kharl Sharif Bukhari (RA), Who was a renowned Sufi saint during his time.
