Lianzhou is a small city in the northwestern part of Guangdong province, China. It sits at the foot of Wuzhi Mountain and along the banks of Beijiang River. The city has a population of about 400, 000 people and covers an area of 1, 475 square kilometers. The history of Lianzhou dates back over 2, 000 years ago during the Han Dynasty when it was an important trading center for tea and silk due to its location on ancient trade routes. Wuzhi Mountain National Forest Park is one of Lianzhou’s most popular attractions.
