Luofeng is a small town located in the eastern province of Jiangsu, China. The town is situated on the banks of the Yangtze River and is known for its beautiful natural scenery and rich cultural heritage. Luofeng has a population of approximately 50, 000 people and covers an area of around 200 square kilometers. One of the most famous attractions in Luofeng is the Yunlong Lake Scenic Area. This stunning lake covers an area of around 40 square kilometers and is surrounded by lush green hills.

  1. Luofeng Battle (AD 383): A major battle took place in Luofeng during the Jin Dynasty between the rebel leader Liu Yu and the Jin army.
  2. Zhang Xianzhong (1606-1647): A Chinese military leader who led a rebellion against the Ming dynasty and later established his own kingdom in Sichuan province. He was born in Luofeng.
  3. Liang Hongyu (1100-1135): A female general during the Song Dynasty who fought against invaders from northern China. She was born in Luofeng.
  4. The Northern Expedition of 1926: During this military campaign, forces led by Chiang Kai-shek marched through Luofeng on their way to Nanjing to establish a new government.
  5. The Cultural Revolution: In 1966, Mao Zedong launched a political movement that had profound effects on Chinese society and politics, including in Luofeng.
  6. The Three Gorges Dam: This massive hydroelectric dam was constructed on the Yangtze River near Yichang city, which is close to Luofeng.
