Luxor is a city in southern Egypt, Known for its rich history and stunning architecture. It was once the ancient city of Thebes, Which served as the capital of Egypt during the New Kingdom era. Today, Luxor is a popular tourist destination due to its many historic sites and cultural attractions. One of the most famous landmarks in Luxor is the Karnak Temple Complex, One of the largest religious buildings globally. This complex includes several temples, Pylons, Obelisks and chapels that were built over 2, 000 years by various pharaohs.

The most impressive feature of Karnak temple is its Great Hypostyle Hall – an enormous hall with 134 columns that rise up to 80 feet high. Another must-see attraction in Luxor is the Valley of Kings – an ancient burial ground where many pharaohs were buried including Tutankhamun and Ramses II. Visitors can explore several tombs with intricate carvings and paintings depicting scenes from Egyptian mythology. The Luxor Temple located on the east bank of Nile River was built during Ancient Egypt’s New Kingdom period around 1400 BC.

It’s dedicated to Amun-Ra who represented sun-god Ra along with Horus and Ptah. The temple has been renovated multiple times throughout history including during Roman rule when it was converted into a Christian church. The Colossi of Memnon are two massive statues made from solid blocks weighing up to 720 tons each located at west bank near Valley Of Kings . They depict Pharaoh Amenhotep III who ruled during Dynasty XVIII (1391-1353 BC) sitting on his throne wearing royal attire with his hands resting on his knees.
