It is one of Belarus’ largest cities and has a long history dating back to the 13th century. Sports Teams

  1. FC Dnepr Mahilyow – Established in 1960, this professional football club competes in the Belarusian Premier League. The team has earned two Belarusian Cup victories and finished as league runners-up three times.
  2. HC Mahilyow – Founded in 1968, this ice hockey team plays in the Belarusian Extraleague and has won six league championships. They have also made it to the finals of the IIHF Continental Cup twice.
  3. BC Tsmoki-Minsk-2 – Although based in Minsk, this basketball club represents the Mahilyow region and competes in the First League of Belarusian Basketball Championship since its founding in 2015. It is quickly becoming one of the top contenders for promotion to higher leagues.
  4. VC Shakhtyor Soligorsk (Mahilyow branch) – A volleyball club originally based out of Soligorsk but with a branch operating out of Mahilyow since 2019, competing at various levels within national competitions.
  5. FK Orsha – This football club was founded back in 1957 and currently plays at an amateur level within national competitions.
