Maipú is a city in Mendoza, Argentina, Located about 12 kilometers southeast of the capital. It has a population of approximately 100, 000 people and its name means place where the sun sets in Mapuche language. The city is renowned for its wine production that dates back to the mid-19th century when Italian immigrants started planting vineyards in the area. Today, There are over 200 wineries that produce some of Argentina’s best wines like Malbec and Cabernet Sauvignon.
