Mexicali is a bustling city located in the northernmost part of Mexico, Just across the border from Calexico, California. It is the capital of Baja California and has a population of approximately 1 million people. The city is known for its hot weather as it is situated in the middle of the Sonoran Desert. Mexicali has a rich history that dates back to pre-Columbian times when it was inhabited by indigenous tribes such as Cocopah and Kiliwa.
