Mingguang is a county-level city located in the eastern part of Anhui Province, China. It is situated on the banks of the Huai River and is bordered by Chuzhou to the north, Fuyang to the east, And Hefei to the south. The city covers an area of 1, 605 square kilometers and has a population of approximately 1 million people. The city has a long history dating back over 2, 000 years. During the Han Dynasty (206 BC-220 AD), It was known as Mingtiao County. In 1988, Mingguang became a county-level city under Chuzhou City’s jurisdiction.
