Mutare is a city situated in the eastern highlands of Zimbabwe, Bordering Mozambique. It is the fourth largest city in Zimbabwe and has a population of over 187, 000 people. The city was established in 1897 as Umtali and was renamed to Mutare in 1982 after Zimbabwe gained independence from British rule. Mutare is famous for its picturesque mountainous landscapes and scenic views. The most prominent landmark in the area is Mount Nyangani, Which stands at an elevation of 2, 592 meters above sea level, Making it the highest peak in Zimbabwe.
