Mwene-Ditu is a city located in the central region of Congo (Kinshasa), Also known as the Democratic Republic of Congo. It is situated in the province of Lomami, Created in 2015, And has a population of approximately 150, 000 people. The name means the king’s place in Tshiluba, One of the local languages spoken in the region. The city has a rich history dating back to pre-colonial times when it was ruled by various kingdoms and chieftains. Later colonized by Belgium and became part of their Congo Free State before gaining independence in 1960.

Today, Mwene-Ditu is an important center for commerce, Agriculture, And transportation.
